Relative Minor Scales Instruction

Assignment

By the time students go from middle school to high school they should know all 12 major scales. Students will play all of their scales by the end of the year. In order to receive a 100 on this assignment, students must play each scale accurately. I will take off 1 point for each missed note. Each scale is worth 8 points. Students can play them anytime during the semester in order to complete this assignment. If a student attempts a scale and does not do well on it there is another chance to do the scale again. Students will have 5 attempts at each scale. I will have a progress poster displayed in the classroom in order for students to record their own progress. At the end of the year I will expect any student to play any scale I choose by memory.
